Description

Jose Luis & Rosario have a beautifully floral crop at the highest altitudes of Jinotega, Nicaragua. Up on a mountaintop, their family cultivates not only coffee, but also cabbage & potatoes. Their kids Hazel, Gerson, Luis Miguel & Angel Joan help run their farm and a small community store out of their home.

This microlot is grown at roughly 1500 masl on their farm, El Taiwan, in the western town of Jinotega. These beans are made up of three varietals: Catuai, Caturra & Bourbon. Some of this coffee’s notes are reminiscent of the Geisha variety, though in this case those notes are likely from their Bourbon varietal and the level of ripe picking.
