Oscar Omar Alonzo is a hands-on farmer and a legend in the world of organic Honduran microlots. He produces coffees through his two farms, Finca Cual Bicicleta and Finca Californeo and is always striving to improve his coffee. For example, he discovered that coconut husks retain moisture, so he collects discarded husks and buries them with his coffee trees to provide moisture during dry seasons and increasing plant available nutrients. He is continuously innovating and improving his coffee production.
These direct trade beans are harvested at 1750 meters and made up entirely of the Red Bourbon varietal. After the fresh beans are honey-processed, they are laid out to sun-dry on raised beds.
