This lovely Guatemalan lot is a part of the Ayarza Wine series grown by the El Porvenir Co-op. These unique coffees were harvested with particular characteristics in mind: deeply fruited, fermented & wine-like, sweet with depth of body. Cooperativa El Porvenir represents the hard work and dedication of nine producing families and twenty eight farms in the area surrounding Laguna de Ayarza, in southeastern Guatemala.
These beans are shade-grown at roughly 1800 masl, under conifer and broadleaf trees. Once the ripe cherries are picked, they are then sun-dried for five days on patios.
