Description

Myanmar, formerly Burma, is steadily becoming a star in the specialty coffee world. Recent funding from USAID has enabled Myanmar to develop better agricultural practices, higher quality crops, and access to international markets. Since specialty coffee is a newer advancement, processing mills are rare, meaning the coffee is harvested, picked, processed, and dried by hand; thus, providing better quality assurance.

The Shan state, where this coffee is harvested, has the perfect climate for coffee plants: mildly cool, less humid, and high elevations at roughly 1600 masl. Its landscape is truly beautiful, dotted with Buddhist pagodas amidst coffee plants.
