Description

This lot comes to us from producer members of Asociación Ecologica Productora de Paz (ASEPROPAZ) in Planadas, in the department of Tolima. The producers of this lot grow coffee on plots of land averaging just a few hectares a piece, then carefully harvest and sort cherries before processing and drying the coffee using their own micro mills. ASEPROPAZ certifies and trains its producers to use the best organic practices. The cooperative also invests in infrastructure needs like road improvements and establishing a local warehouse to improve the lives of its members.

Tolima’s mountainous landscape and tropical climate is characterized by volcanic soil and very few bugs or pests, making it ideal for coffee growing. This microlot is grown at an altitude ranging from 1500 to 2050 masl, fully washed, and laid out on patios to dry.
